National Lighthouse Day
The community is invited to join us for National Lighthouse Day at Kīlauea Point National Wildlife Refuge on Friday, August 7, 2026.
The Refuge will be open for public visitation for this entrance fee-free day from 10:00am to 7:15pm and will feature an array of activities, culminating with lighting of the lighthouse!
Activities 10:00am to 5:00pm: Jr. Ranger Biologist workbook, keiki Lighthouse craft, Waʻa (canoe) keiki craft with Kapena Steve, Mosaic wall talks with Michael Shintani, Seamanship knots with Kauaʻi Sea Scouts, and keiki wildlife awareness games with Friends of Kauaʻi Wildlife Refuges.
Live Music 4:30pm to 6:30pm: Featuring the Kalihiwai Serenaders!
Lighthouse Lighting at 7:00pm (off at 7:15pm for bird safety)
