
Reflections of a Lighthouse Keeper’s Daughter
We had the pleasure of visiting with Pamela Catalina Villanueva. She lived here at the Kīlauea Point Light Station, as it was then known , from 1960 to 1964 when her father Mosman Villanueva served as Boatswains Mate 1, U.S. Coast Guard Officer in Charge of the Kīlauea Point Light Station.



Wildlife Spotlight: ʻAʻo
One of the endangered seabirds that Kīlauea Point NWR was founded to protect is the ʻaʻo, or Newell's Shearwaters.
