Walk for the Wild 2023

  • 3500 Kilauea Road Kilauea, HI 96754 United States (map)

Celebrate National Wildlife Refuge Week, October 8-14th, by joining us for our VIRTUAL Walk for the Wild!

Because our supporters come from far and wide to visit our three Kauaʻi Refuges and support our work, our Walk for the Wild 2023 event will be VIRTUAL. That means, we're asking you to join our team, find ways to experience nature wherever you call home, Walk for the Wild...wherever you are, and help support our work.

Proceeds from our Walk for the Wild 2023 virtual event will help us provide rehabilitation and care for sick and injured native Hawaiian birds from one of our three Refuges, through our partnership with “Save Our Shearwaters”. This year, the cost of care is forecast to be $45,000. Learn more about this program HERE.

Walk for the Wild is a national effort to get people moving on behalf of the National Wildlife Refuge System. The goal is to raise funding and leverage donations to build the capacity of Friends groups and nonprofit partners of National Wildlife Refuges.

Please sign up to walk today and share this invitation with friends, family members and other wildlife enthusiasts. A portion of your donation will be matched by national supporters of Walk for the Wild and the Public Lands Alliance.

How to Register / Join / Help:

  1. Visit our event site online - FKWR Walk for the Wild.

  2. Make a donation to help our Team reach our fundraising goal.
